Notes for Administration
Our providers on the Web:
- Namesilo (aboutsuffering.com).
- Hostinger (free 2nd website hosting, I also have robertdaoust.org at Hostinger). Supposedly, managed WP hosting costs 13 $ per month (business) vs 10 $ for shared hosting (personal website). But currently I paid Hostinger 95 $ in September 2022 for 4 years of shared hosting (2 $ per month). Next September the price for 4 years of shared hosting will be almost 191.52 $ because renewal is priced higher (4 $ per month). How much would it be for managed hosting instead? Questions to Hostinger: 1) Wordfence says that LiteSpeed prevents its correct updating (and there is no column under plugins to stop automatic updating). 2) PHP version is not up to date. 3) LiteSpeed prevents homepage from updating immediately after an editing.
- WordPress.org (free, except for certain plugins etc.).
- Email address info@aboutsuffering.com which costs 0.45 $ per month at Hostinger and 1.60 $ at renewal.
- Ally by Elementor is the accessibility (for the handicapped) plugin or widget that we use.
List of features to implement (or not):

- chat with an expert (for a certain amount of $ from 0 to X depending on availability of experts…). See https://calendly.com/ for appointment!
- ask questions incognito,
- form for Q about S,
- discourse.org might host our About Suffering Forum for free (it offers more features if we pay). Or what about telling people who want to talk about suffering to go to the Mighty Network at the Algosphere Alliance?

- Broker role:
- If your question has no satisfying answer, it may be transmitted by our Service to appropriate organizations or individuals. That may especially be the case when elements for an answer depend on the knowledge that can be found only within a certain context of analysis or control, or within a certain community who should be involved in the analysis or control. Similarly, when you ask a question that only a specific individual or organization can answer: we could ask them the question on your behalf or put the two of you in touch.
- You can commit to purchasing an analysis and/or control service from us, which will only be implemented once we have the necessary resources to provide it. Your commitment would help us secure these resources, for example by making it easier to find investors or providers, who will appreciate the fact that you—and, if necessary, other clients like you—have already committed to paying for this service as soon as it becomes available! In this case, we act as a sort of intermediary.
Rule:
The primary topic of interest on this site is suffering. Any other topic can be dealt with but only as a secondary matter relating to suffering. For instance, economics or poverty problems may be discussed but only inasmuch as they are primarily problems of suffering rather than problems of economics or poverty…
Examples of question:
- How to get funding for my cause? SACS: response is to be found in the framework of all fundings related to suffering… see that framework and zoom in on the most relevant parts for this precise kind of funding.
